For many months now, we have been struggling to cope with the “new normal” brought about by the pandemic. While we may still be facing challenges in the months to come, we want the Advent and Christmas seasons to be joyous! As such, we are seeking volunteers for nearly all the ministry groups in the parish.
What does this mean? We are looking for lectors to read at Masses; ushers to greet and guide parishioners and visitors to their seats; individuals to assist with flowers and decorations. In lieu of their regular bazaar, the women of the JCCW will be holding several bake sales and are requesting goodies to sell. Are you an expert at finding the perfect Christmas tree or a skilled woodworker? The Knights of Columbus provide Christmas trees for church spaces during the holidays and we have a few small projects for those good with tools. The short of it is: We need you, our parishioners, and there are ways you can gather, participate, and spread joy –even now during the pandemic.
We would also like to take one more moment of your time to ask you to consider attending our upcoming parish retreat.Each and every one of us has been affected in one way or another by Covid. Many of us do not like changes, and above all we want to move beyond feeling restricted in our daily lives. Please look at the parish retreat as a way of spiritually recharging so that we may recapture the assurances of our faith! You will find more information and a schedule on the table in the gathering area. Let us open our hearts and minds to God this season and truly be thankful for His presence in our lives.

Durante muchos meses, hemos estado luchando para hacer frente a la “nueva normalidad” provocada por la pandemia. Si bien es posible que todavía enfrentemos desafíos en los próximos meses, ¡queremos que las temporadas de Adviento y Navidad sean felices! Como tal, estamos buscando voluntarios para casi todos los grupos ministeriales de la parroquia.
¿Qué significa esto? Buscamos lectores para leer en la misa; ujieres para saludar y guiar a los feligreses y visitantes a sus asientos; personas para ayudar con flores y decoraciones. En lugar de su bazar habitual, las mujeres de la JCCW realizarán varias ventas de pasteles y solicitarán golosinas para vender. ¿Eres un experto en encontrar el árbol de Navidad perfecto o un carpintero experto? Los Caballeros de Colón proporcionan árboles de Navidad para los espacios de la iglesia durante las vacaciones y tenemos algunos proyectos pequeños para aquellos que son buenos con las herramientas. En resumen: los necesitamos a ustedes, nuestros feligreses, y hay formas en que pueden reunirse, participar y difundir la alegría, incluso ahora durante la pandemia.
También nos gustaría tomar un momento más de su tiempo para pedirle que considere asistir a nuestro próximo retiro parroquial. Todos y cada uno de nosotros hemos sido afectados de una forma u otra por Covid. A muchos de nosotros no nos gustan los cambios y, sobre todo, queremos ir más allá de sentirnos restringidos en nuestra vida diaria. ¡Considere el retiro parroquial como una forma de recargar espiritualmente para que podamos recuperar las seguridades de nuestra fe! Abramos nuestro corazón y nuestra mente a Dios en esta temporada y estemos verdaderamente agradecidos por Su presencia en nuestras vidas.
