Healing and Forgiveness through Confession

Experience the healing power of God through the Sacrament of Confession. The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes the nature of sin, identifies the reconciling role of the priest, and presents the effects of the Sacrament of Confession: “Sin is before all else an offense against God…At the same time it damages communion with the Church…Only God forgives sins…Jesus gives this power to men to exercise in his name…The confession (or disclosure) of sins…frees us and facilitates our reconciliation with others. Through such an admission man looks squarely at the sins he is guilty of, takes responsibility for them, and thereby opens himself again to God and to the communion of the Church in order to make a new future possible…The priest is the sign and the instrument of God’s merciful love for the sinner. The confessor is not the master of God’s forgiveness, but its servant” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1440-1441, 1455, 1465-1466, at The Holy See, www.vatican.va).

Experience healing and forgiveness through the Sacrament of Confession at our parish every Thursday from 12:00 p.m.—1:00 p.m. and every Saturday from 4:00 p.m.—5:00 p.m. Confession is also available by appointment with our priests.
