Musical Notes | October 27-28

The 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time presents readings that acknowledge that through God’s Amazing Grace we are healed and saved no matter what our weaknesses or strengths are.  We gather as a community to worship God, receive Jesus’s love for us, and praise Jesus for all He has done for us.  Opening the service is “Gather Us In” (# 848), reminding us that we worship as a community, followed by the Psalm acknowledging that the Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy (# 1180). The preparation hymn, “Amazing Grace” (#645), reflects on how it is only through God’s grace that we are healed and saved.  Number 721 “You are Mine” reassures us of Jesus’s love and receptiveness to our prayers, even if His response is different from what we might expect. We close with “Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness” (#625) and go forth praising Jesus.
