Allow Me to Introduce….

Fr. Carl Beavers, Fr. Charles Shonk, and Fr. Peter Mangum.

Fr. Charles Shonk. While Fr. Brian is away from the Parish, these fine gentlemen will step in to serve.  Fr. Charles Shonk is a priest of the Dominican Order currently stationed at St. Patrick Church in Columbus, Ohio. He took religious vows in 2013 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2015. Prior to entering religious life he studied Philosophy and Classics at Denison University (in Ohio), then worked as a schoolteacher in New York City for four years. He has a Licentiate in Theology from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and in addition to his parish ministry he teaches a course in Theology at the Pontifical College Josephinum (the seminary in Columbus). In his spare time he enjoys reading and hiking. During his time in Wyoming he looks forward to meeting people, enjoying the outdoors, and, if possible, learning how to fly fish!

While our Pastor and Associate Pastor are away from the Parish, these fine gentlemen will step in to serve. Please, allow me to introduce them to you.
A native Wyomingite, Fr. Carl Beavers is on the doorstep of the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination. Being retired, he now spends most of his time substituting for priests, farming, fishing, or hunting. In his own words, “I look back on the five magical years I spent in Jack-son, which includes helping with the beautiful OLM Catholic Church and the Chapel of the Sacred Heart in Grand Teton National Park, as one of God’s greatest gifts to me.” Thank you for visiting us, Fr. Beavers, and welcome!

As a veteran visitor over the last 15 years, Fr. Peter has been to Jackson 17 times and in all seasons. As he said, “I love the people, love the community, love the nature and it just keeps calling me back. Great to be back!” Fr. Peter Mangum has been a priest in the Diocese of Shreveport, LA for the past 27 years. Thank you for coming to help, Fr. Peter, and welcome back to Jackson!
