Ministries Month at OLM

Welcome to “Ministries Month”!

As baptized Catholics we are called not only to attend Mass and participate in the other Sacraments, but also to “live out” our faith by serving the Church and serving others.  The way most Catholics can do this is by being a part of one or more “ministries” in the Church.  This might be by serving as a Reader at Mass, an Usher, a Eucharistic Minister, helping at our daily lunch program, singing or playing an instrument with the choir, or any one of our other 20 ministries within our parish.

To help everyone become more aware of the opportunities at Our Lady of the Mountains, this month (September) is going to be “Ministries Month”.  You’ll be hearing from some of your fellow parishioners every week at Mass, our priests and deacons will be talking about this in some of their homilies, leaders or other members of some of the ministries might approach you personally, and we’ll be having a big “Ministries Fair” on the weekend of September 25-26.

Here’s the question each of us should be asking ourselves: “What ministry is the Holy Spirit asking me to join in order for me to ‘live out’ my faith right now?”
