OLM Job Posting – Administrative Specialist

As many of you may already know, my co-worker, Catherine Erbes-Ajxup is pregnant and due to have her second child in March.  With the addition of a new family member, Catherine has elected to be a stay at home mother and dedicate more time to her family.  Her tentative last day of work will be on March 15. Catherine began her service at OLM on December 1, 2014.  During her time here, Catherine has served our community with enthusiasm, creativity, diligence, and kindness.  Her positive spirit and agreeable demeanor will be sincerely missed by those of us who had the privilege to work with her.  I encourage all to thank her for her years of humble and faithful service.

Our Lady of the Mountains is seeking a team member to fill the position of Administrative Specialist in the Parish Office.

Essential Job Functions:  Essential job functions include, but are not limited to: welcoming visitors/callers to the parish office; maintaining and updating the parish Family Directory; assisting in scheduling and paperwork for sacramental Masses (baptisms, weddings, etc.); supporting the Clergy, Business Manager,  and other ministries as required; maintaining accurate office and sacramental records; performing data entry work; design, layout, and distribution of public communication including the bulletin and social media; serving as backup to Business Manager when she is out of office.

Required Knowledge Skills, and Abilities: Basic understanding of the Catholic faith; ability to maintain complete confidentiality; positive outlook; team player; flexible; proficient computer skills with a willingness to learn church specific programs; good problem solving ability;  excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); good time management and organizational skills; ability to multi task and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications: Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and the internet; active practicing Catholic in good standing; previous administrative/clerical experience or equivalent.  This position has growth opportunities.

Reports to: Business Manager
